Here is Tyler on his first day of school! Sending Tyler to ALL day Kindergarden has been a bittersweet experience for us. I was really having a hard time with the fact that he was going to be gone that much, but since he loves school so much everything has been just fine. For his first day of school I got to go with him for the first hour and a half. We put all of his things away and looked around the room together, and then they took the parents out to talk with us while the kids stayed in the room with their assistant teacher. I started to tear up when we left the room for the parent meeting and immediately thought oh no this is going to be really embarassing, but I held it together whew:) We made it through the parent meeting and went out on the playground to say goodbye, just then my friend who was watching Halle for me was driving by the school and saw me, and ended up just handing Halle over the school fence since we were leaving then anyway. I started to feel all of the symptoms of a meltdown, sweaty red blotchy face, tears welling up in my eyes- and the only way to keep them from pouring over is to open them as wide as possible:) Just as I was ready to let it all out and get the embarassment over with, Halle burst into tears yelling "No Tyler, come home! Come home Tyler!" She was so distraught that it distracted me and not one tear ended up being shed, Thank you Halle!!! As we left instead of everyone thinking who is that crazy mom balling her eyes out, everyone was saying how sweet it was that she would miss her brother:) Halle ended up crying the first 2 days we dropped Ty off at school, and now she loves going into his room while he's gone and playing with all his stuff and has adjusted just fine. Tyler is loving his school and teacher, and we are just glad that he is happy!

I can't believe Tyler is in Kindergarten! I'm glad you were able to hold it together:) I always thought that was weird that moms got so emotional about their kids going to school, but as my kids get older I'm almost positive I'll be one of "Those" moms! And yay for Halle throwing a fit (I bet you never thought you'd be grateful for that!) That really is sweet that she got so upset over Tyler leaving...I'm pretty sure Brynlee will be in shock when Gracie goes off to school! Thanks for the cute picture...wish Halle could come play while Tyler was at school:( Can't wait to see you guys in Nov. ...8 weeks (not that I'm counting:)) Love ya
Tyler is so cute with his backpack and all. It is a bittersweet experience for sure sending them to school. I love that Halle was sad. Owen asks everyday when Alyssa will be home. He gets bored without her.
Krista you are so funny. I am pretty sure I am going to be just like you when Boston goes to school! I can't believe how big your kids are. They sure are cute.
Krista, that first day of Kindergarten is so hard! And I have to say, that I was one of those moms that left crying her eyes out. It was so hard to walk across the parking lot ALONE to my car! I'm so glad that he likes school and his teacher!
Oh, trust me, I was one of those mom's too. I bet every one of those moms jumped in their cars and let it all out. Tyler is such a handsome little man. I am glad he is enjoying school and tell him thanks for the nice picture and note. The girls especially enjoyed the monkey sounds! They colored him a picture and I will get it off one of these days! Have a good one!
wow...you have a kindergartener! you're so old! i'm glad you were able to hold it together enough to get out of there composed. that is a funny story. i'm sure i'll be the same way.
You are the bravest! I would have broke down with my blotchy red face and big alligator tears streaming down. My body doesn't know how to just tear up-it's all or nothing! Tyler looks so so cute and all grown up. How sweet that Halle loves him so much! We so need to catch up
I just love your little Tyler even though I hardly know him. I'm glad that he loves school so much. And i'm proud of you for holding yourself together. :D
